Zumax Beam Splitter (50%:50%)
This accessory is used to split the light beam passing through the microscope, allowing different accessories to be connected to the microscope without obstructing the observation through the main binocular head.
It has a 50%:50% split, which means that 50% of the light passing through the optical path reaches the binocular head (the user's eyes), ensuring a clear and bright image during the examination or intervention. The remaining 50% is directed to another output where different devices can be connected.
What is the purpose of this 50%:50% split?
This ratio is ideal when an equal light distribution is required between the user's observation and an external device (e.g. a camera or assistant head).
Recommended for the following applications:
High-quality video or image recording: since 50% of the light reaches the camera, higher quality, brighter images can be captured, which can be critical for educational, presentation or documentation purposes.
Assistant head attachment: if the assistant or student needs the same clear and bright image as the main operator, a 50%:50% split is ideal.
Education and demonstration: for live presentations where the audience also needs to see the image under the microscope clearly, this split ratio is optimal.
The 800-0112 model is also primarily designed for Zumax microscopes, but is also compatible with microscopes from other manufacturers (e.g. Zeiss, Seiler).
