Zumax Extender and Beam Splitter (20%:80%)
The Zumax 800-0115 beam splitter is a microscope accessory that, in addition to the beam splitter function, also includes a binocular extender. This combination provides two main advantages for the microscope user:
Beam Split:
This model has a 20%:80% beam split. 80% of the light passing through the microscope goes to the user's eye, while 20% goes to the output. The side connectors allow the connection of external devices such as:
Video or digital cameras: for recording images and videos for teaching, documentation or patient education.
Assistant head:
for another observer (e.g. assistant or student) to see the image under the microscope in real time.
Binocular extender:
This 800-0115 model has a 45° extender. This means that the binocular head (the part where we hold our eyes) is moved away from the optical axis of the microscope, usually at a forward angle.
What is the extender good for?
It primarily improves ergonomics and operator comfort. The 45° extender allows the user to work in a more upright and natural posture, avoiding a hunched position. This can significantly reduce neck and back pain, which is a common problem during long microscope work.
